.Little Cheddar Meat Loaves.

From Great Aunt Birdie Mae

:: 1 egg
:: 1 c shredded cheddar cheese
:: 1/2 c cheese
:: 1/2 c chopped onion
:: 1 pound lean beef
:: 1/2 c packed brown sugar
:: 3/4 c milk
:: 1/2 c quick oats
:: 1 t salt
:: 2/3 c ketchup
:: 1 1/2 t mustard seed

In a bowl, beat the egg and milk. Stir in the cheese, oats, onion, and salt. Add the beef. Shape into 8 loaves; place in a greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Combine ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard seed; spoon over loaves. Bake, uncovered, at 350˚ for 45 minutes or until meat is no longer pink.

My notes: We used ground bison; it was good. Didn’t see or taste the cheese, so I will try leaving it out next time. I thought the topping was a little too sweet, but Matt has a sweet tooth, so next time we’ll reduce the sugar for half the batch of topping.

Matt didn’t complain about these leftovers.
