Autumn and Eggs

We woke up this morning to AUTUMN! Steam was coming off the pool and it was a chilly 48˚! Marvelous.

Matt and I had a GIS conference today, so we decided to take our time getting there and stopped for breakfast at Coltrane Café, which is on 2nd and Coltrane in Edmond.

Every other time we tried to stop there it was closed or packed. They have a standard breakfast menu and serve barbecue for lunch.

The place is clean and simple, decorated in orange walls, matted and framed photography, and stainless steel accent pieces. Unfortunately, one accent was a flat panel television that was blaring J.Lo on Good Morning America.

I’m no longer scared of Eggs Benedict. That’s what Matt ordered and I had a bite. Yummy! I got the breakfast skillet. I chose two eggs over medium over potatoes, jalapeño peppers, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese with wheat toast.

The coffee was good and refilled often. Oh, and they serve real cream, not that powdered atrocity.

  1. Mostly because I didn’t know what it was. Kind of like Beef Manhattans…what the heck is that?
    Also, I didn’t know the sauce was Hollandaise sauce; I thought they did something funny to the egg.
